''The Gathering'' is a 1977 American television film, made-for-television Drama (film and television), drama film produced by Hanna-Barbera, Hanna-Barbera Productions for American Broadcasting Company, ABC. Written by James Poe, with Joseph Barbera as executive producer, the film tells the story of a dying executive (played by Edward Asner) who arranges a final Christmas reunion with his estranged wife and adult children. The film was directed by Randal Kleiser, and stars Edward Asner in the lead role of dying executive Adam Thornton and Maureen Stapleton as his estranged wife Kate. The Gathering are a Dutch Rock music, rock band formed in Oss, North Brabant in 1989. The band's lineup currently consists of founding brothers René Rutten (guitars) and Hans Rutten (drums), Silje Wergeland (lead vocals), Hugo Prinsen Geerligs (bass) and Frank Boeijen (keyboards). The band's earliest releases were categorized as atmospheric doom metal with influences from extreme metal acts like Celtic Frost and Hellhammer, undergoing numerous vocalist changes before breaking out in 1995 with Mandylion (album), ''Mandylion''. ''The Gathering'' is the eighth studio album by American thrash metal band Testament (band), Testament, released on June 8, 1999. It was the first release the band had done with Spitfire Records. ''The Gathering'' is a compilation album by Jørn Lande. It was released on 29 January 2007, the same day as his new covers album '' Unlocking the Past''. It was released exactly a year later, on 29 January 2008, in North America. The album features songs from Lande's solo project Jorn as well as songs from his time with such bands as Millenium, ARK and The Snakes as well as Lande's collaboration with Symphony X lead singer Russell Allen.
